Brett Gallman

Oh the Horror
Movies in a Minute

Greenville, SC

While he was writing his Masters thesis on James Joyce at Clemson University, Brett helped to start Oh the Horror, which kick-started his love of writing about movies. Ever since, he has written about Lucio Fulci and Herschell Gordon Lewis more so than Joyce or Shakespeare, but he likes to think he's still pretty well-rounded. Though he's built his reputation as a "horror guy," he still finds time to watch just about everything else and considers knocking off the entire AFI 100 movies list to be a major life accomplishment. Other accomplishments include interviewing Lloyd Kaufman, using Twitter compulsively, and unlocking the secrets of the universe by reading the ingredients on a chewing gum wrapper.

The Empire Strikes Back, Halloween, Nosferatu, Breathless, Once Upon a Time in America, The Seventh Seal, Fitzcarraldo, Jaws, American Graffiti, John Hughes, Ingmar Bergman, John Carpenter, Tarantino, Klaus Kinski, Fred "The Hammer" Williamson, Natalie Portman, and peanut butter.
