Lead to film reviewing out of parental overexposure to moving images, Joseph Proimakis starting writing about the films he watched at the tender age of 19, swiftly rising up to columnist status at Greece's pioneering film website Cine.gr in the early '00s, before moving on to the printed word as head of film pages in mainstream monthly World of DVD in 2002. After a couple of years, he moved back to the magic realm of the world wide web, starting up his own website, Movies for the Masses, in 2004, which soon became the country's leading destination for all things film-related. As of 2008, he is the Greek correspondent of European film focused site Cineuropa.org, and in 2010 got a gig as European festival correspondent of US-based website Quietearth.us.
