ABOUT SEAN
I wrote my first film review in high school and have been writing professionally ever since. Before I became a full-time freelance writer, my day job was the manager of the late, great Flicks and Pics video store in Eugene, Oregon, and for a few years I was inventory manager at Scarecrow Video in Seattle (still one of the greatest video stores on the planet).
I am currently the DVD columnist for MSN Entertainment, a contributing writer for Turner Classic Movies Online and the managing editor of Parallax View. I was a film critic for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer (Seattle's original morning daily) for nine years and was previously the DVD columnist for the IMDb and the original film.com. My work has appeared in The Seattle Weekly, The Stranger, Senses of Cinema, Asian Cult Cinema, Psychotronic Video and "The Scarecrow Video Guide" (among other publications) and in 2009 I collaborated with Sherman Alexie on the commentary track to the DVD release of "The Exiles."
